So it has officially been SIX months since I have posted a blog. A LOT has happened in this time! We have enjoyed a long spring season in Georgia, Danny had a great first season as the girl's head track coach, and Ruby has been on her first beach vacation!
Some great opportunities have come up for me career wise that has allowed me to learn a lot of new tools, resources, and things about myself as well. It has also overwhelmed me to say the least! I have officially entered into my second year of my doctorate degree. I am hoping the second and third years go by just as quickly!
My shopping habits haven't changed much either! I LOVE the new styles that are bringing older styles back. I always said that if I had to go back in time and live in a different era that I would love to live in the 40's and 50's. The fashion in those eras are so timeless. Nordstrom's anniversary sale is currently my danger zone! Be sure to check it out!
This summer has flown by...why do they go by quicker and quicker each year? We went on a cruise in early June to the Bahamas, St. Thomas, and St. Martin. It was oh so fabulous and just what we needed! Be sure to check out the details soon in my travel section. We also went on our annual family trip to Panama City Beach. Watching fireworks along the beach is still the best way to spend the fourth!
With two weeks left until school starts back, I reflect on this summer and what I have learned:
1. Teachers never stop working, not even in the summer. With workshops, training, lesson planning, and organzing old files, our work is never done. And let's not forget the many trips to The School Box to try and fill our punch cards so when we go for our big shopping spree before open house, we actually feel as if we are saving ten dollars when cashing in our full punch card.
2. Some people really do live a life of luxury as the cruise award went to a couple on our cruise who had sailed over 1700 nights with Royal Carriebbean. I mean, really?!
3. There is always something new to learn from your neighbors.
4. Pinterest really can take up 4 hours of your life in no time!
5. Fast food is the devil, except for Chick-fil-A!
Thanks for reading, and be sure to follow me! I would love to follow your blog as well, so be sure to share.
More to Come Soon,
Whitney

2012-Blogging Must Be a Resolution
I follow through with many things, but I have not done well keeping up with my blog =( This WILL be a resolution for me in 2012! I have just recently joined Pinterest-currently taking up A LOT of my "free" time! I will try to link my top favorites on here too. My rule will be...when I pinterest, I blog!
October and my last post seem like forever ago. Since then, I have traveled to New York (my travel section will be updated soon, so be sure to check it out for trip ideas and my suggested itineraries), coordianted a wedding, painted and decorated my master bath, spent wonderful, quality time with family and friends, and set some neat goals for myself for the new year. As I reflect back on the many decisions I have made thus far in my grown up life, I feel as if I am at a good place now where I can enjoy my mini goals and truly chase my dreams. The light at the end of the tunnel never seems to appear closer, but I do enjoy teaching my sweet ten year olds each day, grit my teeth while secretly enjoying the challenges of a doctorate degree, and do not feel normal if I am not stressed or busy. I know, crazy! I am hoping that in 2012, I will slow down a bit but still enjoy every second of the relaxation!
What I know so far in this new year: Christmas decor is way more fun to put up than it is to take down, Pinterest has EVERYthing you could possibly imagine so there is no excuse for people to not be creative, and that the month of January is by far the longest month ever.
Happy New Year, Make this one your best yet,
Whitney
